Discusses the natural attenuation and influencing factors of air cleaners in an environmental test chamber, and compares with the actual test data. Points out that the natural attenuation in the environmental test chamber consists of three main parts: the coagulation loss (about 1.2%), the deposition loss at horizontal surface (about 0.61%) and the diffusion loss at vertical surface (about 0.76%). The total natural attenuation is about 2.6%. Considers that the natural attenuation test is not needed for air cleaner in the environmental test chamber, which can be replaced by the background concentration; and that the circulating fan can be cancelled, which can be replaced by small adjustable air volume fan placed in the test prototype.
